| Certification We speak of “certification” when an accredited, independent entity such as BSI Management Systems comes into a company, appraises its management systems and issues a certificate. This confirms that the company fulfils the requirements set out in the standard in question and complies with accepted practices in the industry. The certification institute will submit a quote based on the customer’s business data and the management systems it is being asked to inspect. The company and institute then sign a contract and produce a joint audit plan. This comprises a formal review of all documents and usually a pre-audit to certify that the company is essentially ready to undergo certification. Then comes the certification audit proper after which, assuming all goes well, the company will be issued its audit certificate. Follow-up audits are conducted annually, and every three years there is fresh audit to have the certification renewed. Partner4BCM and its external partners prepare you for certifications of this type and accompany you through the process: first-time certification, annual follow-up audits, and the re-certification which takes place every three years. |
